Tozan-ryu shakuhachi shihan (licensed teacher of the Takuan school shakuhachi flute), performing traditional Japnese music, modern musical trends and improvisation.
Tozan-ryu shakuhachi shihan (licensed teacher of the Takuan school shakuhachi flute), trained by master Kozan Yamazaki (member of the well-known shamisen group Yoshida Kyodai) since the 1990s. He has been studying under the guidance of Tozan School masters such as Taizan Kawamura or Houzan Nomura, as part of master classes in Japan for more than ten years. He currently lives in Prague, where he performs traditional Japanese music, modern musical trends and improvisation with musicians such as pianist Martin Kratochvíl and percussionist Zangi . In addition to studying at the Tozan-ryu school, he visits Fukuoku, Japan, the Itchoken Zen Temple several times a year, where he is trained in the traditional Zen shakuhachi play called Koten Honkyoku.
Seizan studied classical music and jazz on piano and saxophone since his childhood. He performed with Ronne Perry and Peter Domingues at Michigan State University in the USA in the past. He toured with blues bands in Japan and recorded an album with the folk band Nona in Moravia. Since 2014 he has been studying saxophone with Jiří Kulisev at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague.
