Study the shakuhachi with the legendary John Kaizan Neptune for three days in Prague. Learn to play a solo piece “PAST AND PRESENT” 今昔 (“KONJAKU” in Japanese) composed by John Kaizan Neptune. Attend concerts and shakuhachi listening sessions. Meet fellow players.
The teaching language is English.
Afternoons, a small group of students (max 5) will gather to study John’s original composition for solo shakuhachi.
The aim of the workshop is to allow students to develop thorough musical and technical understanding of the piece.
Participants of the afternoon programme will be provided with a music score and recording beforehand expected to be prepared for classes. The afternoon programme is aimed to cater towards beginner-intermediate/intermediate students.
You can choose from following options:
Morning sessions are 30 EUR per day.
The afternoon programme (September 6 – 8) is 3900 CZK (approx. 150 EUR) maximum capacity 5 students.
Participation in the entire intensive can be purchased for 200 EUR.
