Study the shakuhachi with the legendary John Kaizan Neptune for three days in Prague. Learn fundaments of shakuhachi embouchure, practice and special techniques, Attend concerts and shakuhachi listening sessions. Meet fellow players.
Each morning after guided warm-up and ro-buki with the player of the Kifu kai, Marek Kimei Matvija, Neptune will explain special and fundamental techniques of the shakuhachi. Ranging from correct embouchure, finger movement, precise meri-kari transitions to various special techniques and practice routines, these classes aim to improve your playing regardless of your school or playing ability.
The morning programme can be purchased individually.
You can choose from following options:
Morning sessions are 780 CZK (approx. 30 EUR) per day.
The afternoon programme (September 6 – 8) is 150 EUR maximum capacity 5 students.
Participation in the entire intensive can be purchased for 5200 CZK (approx. 200 EUR.)
